Learn More About Our Process
Where does the Partnership Painting Process come from? After working in residential and commercial painting since 1984, we KNOW what works. We learned how to paint from Scott’s father who painted houses each summer when he wasn’t teaching High School Industrial Arts. He taught us not only how to paint but the value of painting a house, a room, a school, or a church, for example, as if they were our own. Basically,“the Golden Rule” of painting!
First Contact
An interesting fact, 75% of Partnership’s business is either referral or repeat business. We hope that brings you some peace of mind if you decide to work with us.
Many new clients find us when searching online and decide to call the office. On that call, we try to get as much information as possible and always ask these three questions:
- How can we help you?
- What are your specific needs?
- What is your ideal timeframe for the work to be done?
We want to make sure we are the right company for the work and that we can get started or complete the work on your timeline. We always attempt to balance getting the job done, on schedule while doing beautiful work.
Set the Appointment
We have moved back to setting in-person appointments. We like meeting our customers to establish a professional relationship. Monica/Crystal or someone in our office will email you confirming the date and time of the meeting, and if requested, send a digital copy of our brochure that lists previous customer referrals in your zip code. We also send links to show that we are:
- Licensed and Bonded
- Have Liability Insurance
- Have workers comp coverage
- EPA Certified (trained in dealing with the process of lead-based paint containment)
Consultation
Someone from the team (Brad, Scott, or Jason) will come to you for a no-cost consultation. Before Partnership Painting even looks at the work to be done, we would like to speak with you about the job. We want to understand the job scope fully and client needs, which helps us determine how we can better serve you.
Questions and topics typically discussed at the consultation
- What past work have you completed on the home?
- What is the painting history (of the home or building?)
- If residential, what are your long-term plans for the home?
Partnership Painting will always take the time to discuss the project. No matter what your job entails, it is likely that we have seen it before and are prepared to offer feedback and experienced opinions on most jobs. We are more than painters; we are also available to help with items like wood rot and replacing boards, which can save you extra costs of having to hire a carpenter.
At Partnership, we try to bring education or understating of your scope of work. Even though two projects are never the same… after 38 years, we have encountered a lot of challenges and have been able to provide multiple options to remedy almost any situation. We post a lot of before and after examples on our Instagram.
The Proposal
We promise to get you a proposal as soon as possible, typically we can have a direct and customized proposal in front of a new client within two business days.
If necessary we sometimes meet again to hand-deliver the quote and break down the job in terms of time and price. We are happy to answer any questions you may have after receiving the proposal.
You will find that we offer "no-nonsense" pricing, which means we can explain exactly where your money is going. We can walk you through the timeline, the number of crew, the amount of paint/stain, and any additional needed materials or equipment. There will be no surprises or hidden costs. We are transparent with our clients about project scope and pricing.
Both Brad and Scott have been operating a small business that has existed to serve families, nonprofits, and businesses in Southern California. That same service will be extended to you.
